The crew of the "Catarina Schiaffino" entrusts itself to the Madonna of Boschetto during a thunderstorm

Caption:

       "Offer made to the H. V. of the Boschetto by the Crew on the Bark Catarina Schiaffino, Capt. Luigi Mortola: A great thunderstorm suffered coming from South - Southwest on 23rd March 1866 over the lantern of Smal, which it remained for South, to the distance of 10 miles".

Notes:

To attribute to the same hand that executed the prior offer (table 53, inv. Costa n. 48) of which is seen the long brushstroke applied as a descriptive taste for the details of the cargo to sea, the sailors on the yards and the sails pulled away by the wind. 

Also in this painting the image of the Virgin is draft from a watercolored, cutted out and therefore glued to the painting that however, not knowing what type of image would have been applied, is integrally executed.
